College Transition

Today Tamaki Intermediate made a trip to Tamaki College so that we could experience how College felt and how they do things.I had a bad thought in my mind that it would be hell going and experiencing what college is like but instead it looked like great fun and it looked enjoyable.

As I journeyed to different classes I could see the changes from Intermediate to College. The differences I saw was that we were not to just stay in one classroom, we moved around to different classes such as English,Maths,Careers,Science and more but also I realized that there were different teachers that were in different classes. The seats and desks were set separately and not in groups. The classes were way smaller. I realized that college was not about looking cool in front of your friends it was about getting the best education for yourself and achieving your future dream.

It was a brilliant day and it gave me a lot of ideas of what college is.

Astounding World Cup

RUGBY WORLD CUP.ALL BLACKS VS FRANCE.

Have you ever looked forward to watching a live and heart beating game where you feel like dropping everything? Well on the 23rd of October an amazing game happened at Eden Park. This staggering game was started off by 2 Maori men blowing into a pukaea and the All Blacks and France entering the field. After entering the Stadium France sang their National Anthem with pride and then New Zealand's National Anthem was played and I could feel my heart racing when Hayley Westernra sang it with her wonderful opera voice.

After that national anthem was sung proudly the All Blacks performed their astounding haka to show the French how competitive they were. Not long after that the game had already started,I was so excited that I couldn't bear to see any mistakes being done.Piri Weepu did a stunning drop kick to the French, the French caught the ball and ran.I felt sorry for the French because one of their team players gave away a penalty when not releasing the ball. The All Blacks took the touch and they passed it out wide first to Keven Mealamu then to Jerome Kaino, then to the astounding Tony Woodcock.Woodcock ran furiously to the try line and then what do you know All Blacks scored the first try.I felt like going to Eden Park and giving him a big hug.

Hurray!Piri goes for the conversion then......another miss, I felt like he was letting the All Blacks down because he kept missing his conversions. Soon after that Thierry Dusatoir scored a beautiful try for the French.I guess the All Blacks defense line wasn't strong enough to keep this strong player away from scoring the try.Steven Donald ran on and Piri walked off looking very disappointed. The All Blacks got lucky when the French gave away a penalty.Steven stood up to the job and then he got it inside the goal post. The game was getting close to ending, the All Blacks were holding on to the ball like never before. Before we knew it the buzzer rang and the All Blacks had won the World Cup.The crowd went wild when the AB'S ended the game. The whole of New Zealand celebrated because they were so proud and relieved.

After the crowd burst out with loud cheering, the presentation happened. The French went first to receive their medals and then the All Blacks proudly walked up to get their awards along with the huge and astounding Web Ellis Cup.Both teams stood with smiles on their faces to show that they both played to the best of their abilities.I felt really amazed and this wonderful World Cup will be remembered for the rest of our lives.

Testing week

Testing for me is sort of boring and sort of fun at the same time. When doing a test I get frustrated and my mind completely goes blank. The fun thing about testing is extending my learning.

Our topic for this term is To Be Or Not To Be and the tests help me to do well because when I grow up I would like to become a travel agent. That means I
have to strive for the best.

My Favourite Subject

My favourite subject is Literacy because I love to Read, Write and think critically. My passion for Literacy is 100% because I really like to Read and Write. Especially Writing because I can put my thoughts to work and it’s great fun because I can use my imagination and write it in my very own words. When Writing I feel amazing and makes me feel good about my work and myself.

Three fascinating facts about rugby.

Rugby is one of my favourite sports to play because it is a lot of fun and it gives a lot of people strength and ability to play rugby.

The first fact I know about Rugby is that rugby has the same speed as Basketball.

The Second fact I know about Rugby is that it is made up of 15 players.

The Final fact I know about rugby is that each half starts with a kick off.

Term 1 Reflection

How was your first week at school this year?

Well my first week at school was quiet but awesome because I got to see all my friends again and for us all to be together qs well as getting to know all the new students at Tamaki Intermediate.

The highlights of this term was the Swimming Carnival because it was great fun getting into the water and competing with other houses and enjoying the water while we could. The Powhiri was amazing and getting the chance to be presented with our brand new net books. The other highlight was the Leader's Assembly and getting chosen for school councillor and being my class councillor. Another highlight was getting to know the year 7's and being in the extension class.

The lows for this term were waiting and being anxious to see if I was still in the extension class and being united with my friends again.

Term 1 was a fantastic term to come back to school and get the best education, as well as being with my friends from last year.

My Fantastic Trauncy Talk!

Good morning! The police happily walked in with great smiles on their face. Room 1 greeted them with pleasure and excitement because we were so happy that the officers came and talked about wagging and truancy.

Mrs Raj our wonderful teacher asked me politely if i could take photos of the two officers talking to our class. Room 1 quietly came and sat down on the mat. They sat as quiet as a mouse. The two policemen told us kindly that they were here to talk about truancy and how wagging doesn't take us anywhere in life.

They said that if we wag it's not our fault and at the end of the day we won't have to worry about getting into trouble but really our parents are responsible to give us the education we need and the mMinistry of e Education can take them to court. The
officers' names were Tee and Andy. They were as friendly as puppies. After a while the police told room1 that it was time to leave and they had to make another journey up to room12.

Today I have learnt to come to school everyday and never miss a day unless we have a valid reason. Another thing iIhave learnt is to come to school because we don't want to have our dreams crushed.
